How Veynuus began, and what we stand for.
Good thinking starts with understanding the place. Lasting impact comes from doing the work.
Veynuus was founded in Mogadishu to bring strategy, research, communications and practical delivery into one connected advisory firm. Too often, institutions in Somalia and the region receive advice from people who see the context from a distance, or delivery from people who were never part of the thinking. We built Veynuus to close that gap: one team that understands the place, does the analysis and stays to see the work through.
We work with public institutions, international organisations and the private sector, on the questions that shape how the region governs, trades, learns and communicates.
Naima Moalin
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Before Veynuus, Naima worked in Malaysia’s higher education sector and then came home to found Hodmas University College in Mogadishu in 2020. Building an institution from the ground up shaped everything Veynuus does today: start with the people, respect the context, and build things that outlast the project.

From our first photo assignment and our first UN project to work in Kenya and Sudan, Veynuus has grown from two practices to six. In April 2025 we became a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, and we now work from Mogadishu and Nairobi across the Horn of Africa and beyond.
