At Veynuus, we do not separate what we do from the economy around us. Every advisory engagement, every research paper, every training programme and every financial strategy we support has a life beyond the client who commissioned it. It touches a business, a community, an institution, a family. That connection is not incidental to our work. It is the point of it.

Somalia and the wider Horn of Africa region are at a defining moment. Private sector growth is accelerating. Trade corridors are opening. A young, growing population is entering the workforce faster than formal employment is being created. The institutions that shape economic life, government bodies, financial systems, businesses, universities, are being built and rebuilt in real time. Veynuus exists to support that process. Our economic commitment is a statement of how we intend to do that responsibly.

Through our Business and Trade Services and Financial Advisory work, we support enterprises, from small businesses to growing institutions, that create employment, generate revenue and strengthen local economies. We prioritise engagements where our advice leads to sustainable outcomes, not short-term gains.

Investing in human capital as an economic driver

Through our Human Capital Services, we work to close the gap between the skills people have and the skills the economy needs. We believe that a workforce that is trained, placed and supported well is one of the most powerful economic investments any institution can make. We are committed to supporting that investment at every level.

Producing knowledge that informs better decisions

Through our Research, Data and Policy work, we produce analysis that helps governments, businesses and development partners understand the economic environments they are operating in. Good decisions require good information. We commit to making our research rigorous, honest and available to those who need it most.

Strengthening institutions and public trust

Through our Strategic Communications work, we help institutions communicate in ways that build trust rather than erode it. An economy functions on trust, between government and citizens, between businesses and consumers, between partners and investors. We take that seriously in every engagement we accept.

Operating with transparency and anti-corruption principles

As a UN Global Compact signatory, we are formally committed to operating against corruption in all its forms. We do not engage in or facilitate practices that undermine fair competition, institutional integrity or public trust. We hold ourselves to this standard regardless of context or pressure.

Prioritising local talent and regional expertise

We are a firm built on the belief that the expertise needed to develop Somalia and the Horn of Africa exists within the region. We commit to hiring locally, developing our team, and ensuring that the economic benefits of our work stay close to the communities that need them most.

Guided by

Our economic commitment does not exist in isolation. It is anchored in three frameworks that shape how we think about development, responsibility and the future of this continent. The UN Global Compact's Ten Principles give us a standard for responsible business conduct. The Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 8 on decent work and economic growth, SDG 9 on industry and innovation, and SDG 17 on partnerships, give us a shared language for the outcomes we are working toward. And Africa's Agenda 2063 gives us a continental vision: a prosperous, integrated Africa, driven by its own people and institutions.

We are a small firm with a clear sense of what we are here to do. We do not make promises about scale we have not yet reached. What we do commit to is integrity in every engagement, seriousness about the economic context we operate in, and a genuine belief that advisory work, done well and done honestly, can be a force for real and lasting development impact.

That is not a slogan. It is the measure against which we expect to be judged.
