Connecting Minds and Institutions: Support to the SomaliREN Annual Gathering

In 2024, SomaliREN held its Annual Gathering in Nairobi, bringing together representatives from Somali universities and research institutions to exchange ideas, strengthen collaboration, and chart the future of digital education. For the first time, the gathering also explored expanding SomaliREN’s strategic partnerships with regional and global institutions. Veynuus played a pivotal role in supporting both the operational and strategic elements of this milestone event.

Bridging the Gap Between Local Impact and Global Attention

There remains a significant gap between high-impact local institutions and the development partners who are often looking for credible, scalable actors to work with. Organizations like SomaliREN consistently drive innovation and education reform—but are not always visible to regional or global funders and allies.

At Veynuus, we see it as part of our mission to help elevate the visibility, credibility, and influence of these local change-makers. Whether through strategic communication, partner engagement, or event positioning—we support organizations that are doing the work, but deserve a louder voice and a stronger seat at the table.

Bridging Local Networks with Global Possibilities

With Veynuus’ support, the 2024 SomaliREN Annual Gathering achieved more than convening members—it became a launchpad for wider collaboration and visibility. The event’s success laid the groundwork for building stronger connections between Somali academia and global research and development ecosystems.
